Fitzgerald County Park
Grand Ledge, Michigan
Michigan is filled with beautiful parks and waterfronts. On my most recent trip to Lansing with my brother, we wandered a bit north to Grand Ledge to explore the Fitzgerald County Park. It wasn't long before we had wandered off the main path, jumping rocks through the river and hiking the hills.
It was by this random journey that we made our way to the abandoned buildings, one of which was burned down, that I blogged about a couple weeks ago. This particular park is known for its rock ledges. These huge walls of rock lined the path and creek as we wandered though. Some of them were well designed with natural steps to climb around. I highly recommend this park if you find your way to the Lansing area.
On a side note, I have just returned from a week long trip to Tennesse, to be both married and honeymoon in the Smokey Mountains with Sarah (Bendele) Klein. You can expect to see some photographs of the beautiful Smokey Mountains in the coming weeks!
