I have been at Evans Toyota Scion in Fort Wayne for over a year now.

I started at Evans as a contracted photographer, in charge of maintaining car photographs for all of their inventory. It was a boring and repetitive job that would drive anyone crazy after several months. But after six months, our internet director Ken Button approached me. He felt like I could do more for Evans than just car photos. Soon after that day I became the Internet Media Coordinator. To this day that means I am not only in charge of our photographers (we now have a part time photographer and two photography interns from IPFW), but also help maintain and grow The Evans Experience. I am in charge of graphics, web design, and our social media presence.

What is the Evans Experience? It is the unique experience at Evans Toyota. It is the people you get to work with. Everyone at Evans truley cares and works hard every day for their customers, whether you are in for sales, service, parts, rental, insurance or lease. I have come to know everyone here and make many great friends from sales to service to management. The general manager Kyle Dudegon is  one of the most caring and amazing individuals at the dealership and if you have a chance to speak with him you will agree. But like I said, "one of the most", I could write for pages and pages about each person at this dealership.

The real reason I am writing this blog however is to stress how much this job has changed me. I have started to think of this job as an internship more than anything. You can learn a lot in school but the fact of the matter is until you get into the real world and work in the industry you love, you will truley not be prepared. Evans has shown me how much more there is to learn, despite the fact that I graduated from IPFW with my degree in photography and associates degree in business last semester. Learning never ends, and the sooner you are ready to keep learning for the rest of your life the sooner you will be ready.

That all being said, below are two photographs from a collaborative project between myself and JayDee Downam, our part time photographer at Evans. We decided to continue what we did last year, which is to take each new Toyota model out on the road and take a professinoal photograph of it in Fort Wayne. We have photographed the 2013 Toyota FR-S downtown at night. We have also completed the 2013 Corolla S model on the IPFW campus. Look forward to more blog posts in the future for the rest of the series!
