Fun Spot Amusement Park
Abandoned
This past August, I was given the chance to explore Fun Spot Amusement Park and Zoo to take a tour with the property owners of this once widely popular and well known amusement park in Angola, Indiana. The park was shut down in 2008 and since then has been selling the rides.
Having never been to Fun Spot when it was still open to the public, all I know of this amazing Park comes from how it stands today with many of the rides now gone. I was fascinated to discover the park also encompassed a zoo portion with dozens of cages for animals both small and large. There is even an entire ship in the back that was brought in and used for both display and storage.
Before all is gone, I took the chance to photograph the remaining park rides such as the steel launched shutter roller coaster: the Afterburner Roller Coaster. Shots were taken both on the ground and in the sky with a DJI Phantom 3 Professional drone. Check out this video below showcasing the aerial video of the entire park, as well as still shots from the ground and air.
